Coming Soon... Trailer Reviews

Movies play an intricate part in our lives as media consumers; to save time, and money, here are the reviews for the trailers of upcoming movies, in a television near you.

1. This Is It
Yes I know that by the time you read this the movie will have been released and will have sold millions of tickets, but it is important to judge a movie of this magnitude, by the trailer and the trailer alone. The farewell tribute to the King, will only be in theaters for two weeks, and is one hundred and eleven minutes long. While I realize that Micheal Jackson died in a some what abrupt and shocking manner, this film seems to fallow a very disturbing and morbid trend. It has been a little over four month since the man died... let the man go. I digress. The trailer showcases MJ's talent through rehearsals of his finally tour. Little to our knowledge this footage would be some of the last ever taken of the pop icon. The trailer sells the movie of the populations fascination with the man and nothing more

** Two stars - Save your self some cash... wait till it comes to HBO

2. 2012
This is one of those previews that throws me off a little bit. The first of the bunch to hit my television screen was short and did not tell me much about the film. What it did do is show massive destruction and multiple explosions. Now everyone knows that those two things make and A+ trailer. But they stop there. The second, and more extensive trailer, showed story line and bad acting; mostly contributed by John Cusack. The Voice reveals to us that the film is based upon the Mayans prediction that the world will come to an end in the year 2012. There is good intention here, but from the second trailer, this looks to be a bust. Remember some times less is more... Thank you Cloverfield.

** Two stars -Again TNT will have it soon enough... I would watch the reviews as they are released though... this could be a sleeper.

3. The Men Who Stare at Goats
George Clooney, need I say more? This trailer, revels two things about the film; first its going to be hilarious, and second well, that's really all I have. From making a goat fall to its side, to using telepathy to crash a satellite, this film has every thing that is expected from a cast including George Clooney and Kevin Spacey. Ninety three minutes of what looks to be gut renching, off the wall comedy generated by the plot line of top secret government trained telepathic agents for the intended use during the cold war, sounds great huh?

***** Five Stars - I'll save a seat for you... I'll be there on opening night!
