Happy Veteran's Day
We would just like to send out our true gratitude for the soldiers who have and still are out there serving our country. They are putting their lives on the line for our freedom, and for that we are truly grateful. So thank you all and Happy Veteran's day. Please check out this link for a look at what soldiers in Afghanistan go through for a little reality check

I want this!
So this robot can be programmed with a map of your house or wherever you are, and it follows you around playing music. Pretty cool idea that takes portable speakers to the next level. Here is the full story.(Courtesy of Gizmowatch)
What is Wrong With Katt Williams?

So he was arrested for breaking into a home and stealing $3,500 worth of jewelry. Seriously Katt?! You really need to break into someone's home and steal jewelry? You just had an HBO comedy special like 2 years ago... I know the economy's bad, but come on man...

2k Sports

With the NCAA basketball season fast approaching, I would like to take this opportunity to call out 2k Sports. Now, I understand the situation last year, where 2k was nervous that EA would buy the rights to NCAA basketball, and then not be able to release a game in which the put work into. I agree that was a smart move. But with December on the horizon, there is no sign of a College Hoops 2k10. This is extremely frustrating to a huge fan of college basketball like myself, whose only alternative is to got o EA sports sad excuse for a game. I went out and spent $60 on EA sport's NCAA basketball 09 last year and ended up playing College Hoops 2k8 for another year. Please 2k Sports, go back to making college hoops...Maybe even trade MLB for NCAA??? We all know that would please everyone.

Shout out to Joe Girardi!

As much as I love to hate the Yankees, I have to give congratulations to them as well as Northwestern graduate Joe Girardi! They finally put it all together with all of the talent that they bought in the offseason to win a championship. It was a pretty good baseball playoff this year, although I have big problems with baseball playing until NOVEMBER! Thats another subject... Anyways what does Girardi do to celebrate the World Series? He stops on the road and spends his night helping a woman who crashed her car into the wall. Congrats man, keep doing the right thing and winning with class!
This is crazy...but kinda scary...
Artist of the Week - Wale

Wale or Olubowale Victor Folarin is a 25 year old rapper from Washington D.C. He has been on the mixtape seen for a couple of years now with pretty big hits; Mixtape about Nothing and DC Chillin'. He brings a new and refreshing style to hip hop that is upbeat, and catchy. Most of his music is what the call go-go in the DC area, and he is one of the first to bring it to the national stage. Wale is releasing his debut album this coming Tuesday, and I would tell you to go out and get it. It looks to be a solid debut album from the leaks that have come out. Be warned though, do not buy this album expecting to hear hit mainstream singles or club banger after club banger. Wale focuses on lyrical content that is extremely positive towards his fellow black community and artists as well as all of the listeners as a whole. I think that everyone should sit down and actually listen to the album at least once. Just give it a chance, you might learn something from this intelligent, up and coming rapper.

Finally...The Concert Review

WOW...Where to start? Lupe Fiasco single-handedly put on one of the best one man shows that ever was. He created a retrospective look back at his career that spanned from the mixtape days to most recent endeavors. He opened up his heart to the Chicago crowd for nearly 3 hours last Thursday night and it was incredible. Lupe went back to Revenge of the Nerds mixtapes, and showcased some of his earliest, yet most thoughtful and creative works. Then he somehow sprinkled in all but 3 or 4 songs off of his two albums, along with his new Solar midnight and Shining down. And that wasn't even the most impressive aspect of the show.
The show was divided up into 6 themes. Each theme was preceded by a 2 to 3 minute video of Lupe walking around a big, empty room speaking his mind about the subject. Each one came straight from the heart, as Lupe described his lyrics, love, life, death, progress, and finally Chicago. In the midst of all of those expressed the dark time around his father's death, his view on politics, and why he writes the lyrics that he does. It was truly an honest insight into the world of Lupe Fiasco, and every member of the crowd should have been inspired by the genius that this man laid out in front of them. His genuineness came out in first half of the show when one of his video segments was not working properly. He angrily addressed the Chicago Congress Theater about how they were messing up the show that he and the crowd spent their hard earned money on. He seemed to truly be on a mission to show himself to his hometown Chicago.
If I have one recommendation for anybody reading this, it would be to go and see Lupe Fiasco whenever you have the opportunity. Though the show will probably not be as personal and insightful, I have seen Lupe Fiasco on three other occasions and have never left any less than amazed.

Coming Soon... Trailer Reviews
Movies play an intricate part in our lives as media consumers; to save time, and money, here are the reviews for the trailers of upcoming movies, in a television near you.
1. This Is It
Yes I know that by the time you read this the movie will have been released and will have sold millions of tickets, but it is important to judge a movie of this magnitude, by the trailer and the trailer alone. The farewell tribute to the King, will only be in theaters for two weeks, and is one hundred and eleven minutes long. While I realize that Micheal Jackson died in a some what abrupt and shocking manner, this film seems to fallow a very disturbing and morbid trend. It has been a little over four month since the man died... let the man go. I digress. The trailer showcases MJ's talent through rehearsals of his finally tour. Little to our knowledge this footage would be some of the last ever taken of the pop icon. The trailer sells the movie of the populations fascination with the man and nothing more
** Two stars - Save your self some cash... wait till it comes to HBO
2. 2012
This is one of those previews that throws me off a little bit. The first of the bunch to hit my television screen was short and did not tell me much about the film. What it did do is show massive destruction and multiple explosions. Now everyone knows that those two things make and A+ t
** Two stars -Again TNT will have it soon enough... I would watch the reviews as they are released though... this could be a sleeper.
3. The Men Who Stare at Goats
George Clooney, need I say more? This trailer, revels two things about the film; first its going to be hilarious, and second
***** Five Stars - I'll save a seat for you... I'll be there on opening night!
This is pretty ridiculous!
Boston Dynamics, famous for its robotic pack mule BigDog has finally found its companion in the Petman, a two-legged robot that not only looks like a human but also simulates a real person’s moving motion. We’d read before that something as the Petman was in the making, and today here we are seeing the Petman real, after 13 months of designing phase and a 17 month building time. With the abilities to move exactly like us, heal first and then toe, at speeds of 3.2mph, the US army is currently using the bot to test chemical warfare clothing. Here, to provide a realistic test condition, Petman’s done well to self balance, walk, crawl and perform various other movements, and when inside the clothing, to control temperature, humidity and perspiration when required. Video worth the look after the jump.

Up and Coming Artist of the Week: Kid Cudi

Kid Cudi is a 25 year old rapper from Cleveland, OH. Cudi burst onto the scene a couple of years a go with his mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi". He was promptly signed by Kanye West to G.O.O.D. music. He is coming off the release of his debut album, Man on the Moon: End of Day. It is a deep, thought provoking chronology of his life and emotional journeys. Although it did not produce the harder rap that was on his mixtape, Cudi felt that this was something that he needed to share. Expect great things from him in the future.

NFL recap, fantasy and such

Since it is Monday, lets take a look at what happened in the NFL yesterday.
The unbeatens were reduced to a solid 3 this week, as Minnesota lost a hard fought game against the Steelers. A lot of credit goes out to Pittsburgh's D who get after Favre from the start and had him rattled. (Right courtesy of NY Times). Personally I am pretty high on the Saints right now. Their defense forces turnovers, and their offense is clearly unstoppable outscoring their opponents 238 to 127 so far.
Other teams that caught my attention were the Packers, Cardinals, and Bengals. Wait...The Bengals?!?! Yep they are for real. Cedric Benson has come out of nowhere, or maybe just is in a place where they actually encourage offense (see Chicago Bears). They have caught fire since their fluke loss to the Broncos in week one, and seem like a playoff team. Their Defense is solid and Ochocinco and Co. are playing well. The Cardinals thoroughly dominated the Giants even though the Giants lucked into a few scores. They are on the rise in the worst division in football. And lastly, my bias, the Packers. They finally got the running game going against the lowly Browns, and the defense was a brick wall against anemic Derek Anderson. That was a great confidence booster for the Vikings game next week.
Fantasy stars: Pretty much take you pick between Peyton Manning, Brady, or Rodgers. All turned in solid games of 3 TD's. But, the star of the week is going to have to go to Cedric Benson in his domination of the Bears. 37 carries, 189 yards and a TD. Not a bad day for someone who almost saw his career die in Chicago.
Well thats it for now. Quick update, Eagles are on their way to redeeming their loss to the Raiders against the generous Redskins (If you need a win just give them a call). Eagles 7, Redskins 0.
